Heal My Broken Heart

Imagine yourself being in love. There’s a certain feeling that you’re on Cloud 9, like heaven. There’s someone caring and loving you. You won’t wonder anything worse will happen. You fell that you’re safe with the one you love. How sweet that thoughts could be, right? But, can you imagine being betrayed after giving your all? It’s like you invested a lot of money to a bankrupt bank.

After you have given all the emotions to a person, yet that one chose to break your heart, moving on is not an easy thing. Being heart-broken is a natural thing about love. That is a sign that you really know how and what love is. But how can we move on from being shattered?

As a not-so-expert when it comes to love, I used to give comments or pieces of advice to my friends who are suffering from heartaches. I’m giving what I know and based on what I have experienced. For those who are suffering from this kind of ache and want to move on, here are things that I could share and will help you, not eventually but hopefully.

1. Cry. Crying is the best outlet for us to lessen the “heavy” feeling. Surely, after a break up, there will always be someone that will cry. But remember, it’s not the end of the world. It’s just the end of a relationship that will lead you to a better one.

2. Pamper yourself. For sure, after crying, you will look like a handwriting only doctors can read. Go to a salon and give yourself a new look or to a spa for a relaxing massage.

3. Eat. Usually brokenhearted people are stressed so they tend to eat desserts and other comfort food that they know. They feel that eating this kind of food is a sort of stress reliever.

4. Go out with family or friends. Being with the ones you love truly gives you that loving feeling. Surround yourself with the ones that really love and care for you.

5. Forgive and forget. We all know that this isn’t easy but we have to do it. We could forgive at the moment but we can’t eventually forget. This process is slowly but surely. In time, all the wounds and pain would go away. Just do what you want and will make you happy.

Moving on is hard if you let yourself haunted by the memories with the one who broke your heart. There are lots of reasons and ways to move on. Don’t be sad because you’re broken but be thankful because God is leading you away to the wrong person. Just enjoy your life now. Love will make its way for you to be with the one who truly care and love you.

Perfect Tenses: When to Use

It’s normal for us people to commit mistakes whenever or wherever we are. There is no such thing or person existing to be perfect. Even professionals like teachers commit errors. In order not to commit the same mistakes again, we have to study and learn more about things.

As students, who are studying English as our field of specialization, we have to consider the rules and principles about the English language for us to be good at the area that we’re specializing. For now, I will share to you on how to use perfect tenses of the verb. But, what is perfect tense?

Perfect tense is used if the action already completed or done. The word “perfect” on perfect tense literally means “made complete” or “completely done”. The formula for perfect tense is have plus the past participle of the verb (have + ppv).

For past perfect tense, action is completed on the past. The formula for past perfect tense is had plus the past participle of the verb (had + ppv). For example, I had seen your friend.

For present perfect tense, action is completed on the present timet. The formula for present perfect tense is has or have plus the past participle of the verb (has/have + ppv). For example, I have seen your friend.

And for future perfect tense, action is completed with respect to the future. The formula for future perfect tense is will or shall plus the past participle of the verb (will/shall + ppv). For example, I shall return.

Some experts on the English language consider the passive voice of a certain verbs that are always intransitive can also be on the perfect tense. For example, the sentences “They are gone.” and “He is risen.”

So as early as today, we must know and apply the different rules and principles that we’ve learned or still learning for us to be accurate and fluent in using the English language.

Superman-like Vision

Day by day, impossible things could now be possible with the help of technology. From laptops to tablets, from cellphones to smartphones, from wired internet connection to WiFi. Those innovations are just the start. People would invent things that would make our life easier in just a snap of our fingers.

CCTV cameras are very useful nowadays. We can monitor things on our house even when we are asleep. It can also be used in identifying bandits and criminals for fast resolution of cases because the scenes are recorded. But there’s a technology that you cannot just monitor your house on the surface but you can also see what’s beyond your houses. It’s a technology enabling you to see what’s behind your walls that could soon be built on your phone.

An MIT professor had announced this technology called WiVi or WiFi plus vision. With the use of WiFi, a person can now see what or who are moving behind a wall. The device is portable for the users to carry this with no hassle. A person with this device would now be worry-free because he/she can now scan quickly what’s behind the walls or bushes.

WiVi could also serve as a monitor for babies or a tool for policemen to caught thieves and bandits on act.

Fear, Fear, Go Away!

It seems that every one of us is scared of something. But if the fear is too much and you cannot do things properly, then it’s not just an ordinary fear. It’s already a phobia. Then, what is a phobia?

A phobia is an extremely strong fear of something that can actually not be all that dangerous. There are many types of phobia and here are some that may be common to us:

Nyctophobia or fear of the dark. Sufferers don’t want to be alone in the dark. If possible, they would always prefer to have someone beside them.

Obesophobia or fear of gaining weight. Many of us have this kind of fear bur sufferers tend not to eat because of this phobia. They always watch what they eat. This phobia may lead to bulimia nervosa, a serious eating disorder.

Necrophobia or fear of death or dead things. It’s normal for us to be scared at dead things or the fact that we’re going to die but for those who have this kind of phobia, they would do anything in order for them to stay alive or away from things that reminding them of death.

Philophobia or fear of love. The ones who are suffering from this kind of phobia tend not to commit in a relationship. They are afraid in hurting in the end. They would prefer to stay single forever rather than to have someone they think could hurt them.

Phobias can be treated. All you need is a bunch of determination and tons of bravery. Sufferers are advised to face the things that they are scared of. With the support and help of loved ones and experts, people with phobias will learn that the things they are scared of are not that frightening at all.

Titanic: The “Unsinkable” Ship

“I can still smell the fresh paint.” A statement of an old woman reminiscing her days on the unsinkable ship called, Titanic.

Rose and Jack
The story was about a 17-year old lady named Rose DeWitt Bukater who sees herself sailing to her death. She was forced by her mother to marry the rich Cal Hockley. Rose tried to jump from the ship to end her life than to marry a man that she doesn't love at all. But she was saved by Jack Dawson, who came from the third class of the ship. After that incident, they eventually fell in love with each other until a nightmare came.

An iceberg was floating on the direction of Titanic. The speed of the ship was so high and it is too massive that the crew cannot easily turn the direction of the ship. They thought that they were safe after hitting on the edge of the iceberg but it only made damages on the bottom of the ship. Water flow through the open part at the bottom of Titanic that causes it to sink slowly to the sea.

The movie opened with the real situation of the Titanic on the modern time. Brock Lovett, an underwater explorer, lead an expedition of the unsinkable ship. He was in search of jewels but found a nude drawing of a young lady. After the expedition was televised, an old woman saw the drawing on TV and recognizes herself. She was Rose, survived on the tragedy and still alive at the age of 101, recount all her memories on the Titanic.

Hundreds froze and drowned. No one could ever imagine that Titanic would sink, that it once called the unsinkable ship.

Money, How Can I Save You?

New year, new life. Many of us want to change for the better by making a new year’s resolution. Some listed on or before a new year comes. For those who have “healthy” bodies, want to lose weight by going to a gym and do some exercise. For those who were naughty last year, want to change to be good ones. And for those who were the “great spenders”, want to save money as their resolution. But how could we do that?

For students like us, we could use some techniques on how to save our pockets from being bankrupt. First is the piggy bank method. We could save here our coins or change that we got from buying things or from our everyday fare on a jeepney or tricycle.

The second technique is having a bank account. We could put there the excess money from our weekly allowance. We could also gain interest every time we deposit on our bank account. Lastly would be a technique that I and my friend were using now which is similar to a savings bank account but there’s a twist. We could save any amount of money from the range of 20 pesos and above. Every week of contribution, we will add 5 pesos on our daily savings. If we save, for example, this week’s amount is 25 pesos a day, for next week, the contribution would be 30 pesos per day. By the end of your agreed length of savings period, you’ll see that the money you saved really worth it.

Saving money is not easy but if you really want to achieve something, control yourself from spending a lot and think of the things you really want to have or better save it for your future use.

Living on a Province, Living Alone

Have you experienced living without the ones you love? Did you feel the loneliness because you’re not beside them? If you’re going to ask me, I will definitely say yes. For sure all of us felt or still feeling the same way, but we have different reasons behind those inverted smiles on our faces.

When I was still a kid, I used to live with my grandparents because my mother had to leave our place and work abroad. My father, then, also had to work to sustain our daily needs. So I grew up on the side of my grandparents until I graduated from elementary.
Alabat, Quezon

As summer vacation passed by, my father decided to continue my high school education on our province which is Quezon, particularly in Alabat. The place was very different compared here in Manila. The atmosphere there is refreshing but there’s a side of me where nervousness resides. My mind always reminding and replaying the word, adjust. But thank God because at that time, I had my first cellphone that my mother gave me. That was the only way that I could talk to her.

Couple of days in school was a bit hard for me because I had to eat alone on the cafeteria every break and lunch times. And I merely don’t know my classmates then. As a defense mechanism, I used to be a silent-type of person. If someone would try to talk to me, I’ll talk but I can’t handle a good conversation. Even though I was like that, I was able to make friends with my classmates. Until I reached my last year in high school, I was able to survive my “loner” days. I survived even though I had silence on my side.
